Apparently releasing 3 games within a period of 7 months wasn't enough for the Five Nights at Freddy's empire - now, the animatronic animal pals of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria are coming to the big screen.

Per the Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. (an actual bigtime movie studio) has picked up the rights to the popular videogame series, which gained popularity thanks to teenagers screaming and hollering on camera (mostly).

Producer Seth Grahame-Smith had this to say about the project:

We're looking forward to working with Scott to make an insane, terrifying and weirdly adorable movie.

The story really lends itself to being a movie and it taps into a largely unexplored niche of horror that a lot of people will be able to relate to.

While there are a number of producers onboard, there's still no director, writer, or stars attached. But stay tuned, because...well, no matter how bad a Five Nights At Freddy's movie ends up being (and the sky's the limit!), it probably won't be any worse than most horror movies these days.

COUGH unfriended COUGH

(that being said, It Follows is fucking awesome, go see that)
