1. He IS Steve Rogers

And much like Steve Rogers, he used to be a wimpy lil dork...

2. His laughter is so, so delightful

undefined

Chris Evans has the most sincere, contagious laughter I've ever seen - maybe it's because you can always tell he means it, or just that when he laughs, he tends to laugh HARD. Whatever the reason, his amiable, hearty laughter-filled interviews always prove to make him look even more delightful than you thought he was (and you probably already had a pretty high opinion of him). Naturally, it's been remixed nonstop by the internet over the past few years - because of all the crummy memes that come along, we occasionally NEED something as pure as Chris Evans laughing.

3. He's the ultimate child-at-heart

undefined

While Cap may be the leader (and something of a "father figure") of the Avengers, it's the reverse in real life - Chris Evans is the goofy, overgrown kid of the group. He's the only one of the original crew without a spouse and kids (and including MOST of the later Avengers), and so has built himself something of a reputation as the rowdy manchild of the group (in the best way possible).

4. Just straight-up one of the most positive, supportive people in the MCU

Chris Evans is a fountain of positivity and sincerity - whether you're someone he's worked with, someone he respects, or uh NASA, you can count on Chris Evans to be in your corner cheering you on.

For real, just  for fun I searched Chris Evans saying "congrats" and was blown away - both by the number of messages, and how clearly it was ACTUALLY HIM WRITING IT and not some celebrity social media agency.

5. Okay I'm like 90% sure he has a legit crush on Hayley Atwell in real life (and it's adorable)

undefined

Hayley Atwell left an enormous impression on audiences with her portrayal as Special Agent Peggy Carter in the first Captain America film - which, despite originally being a single film role, had her coming back for a One-Shot, a two-season ABC drama, another Captain America film, an Avengers film, AND Ant-Man. And that's because Hayley Atwell legit seems like one of the most talented, wonderful people to ever grace the MCU - and I'm pretty sure Chris Evans was just as smitten with her as audiences were, and it's very cute how terrible he is at hiding it.

6. If it seems like he's the human embodiment of a rowdy dog, that's because his best friend in the world is his dog, Dodger

Okay, now we're getting into the REAL reason I love Chris Evans - he has an awesome dog and he loves that dog with all of his heart. You can always tell whether or not someone is trustworthy based on how they behave around dogs - and based on Chris Evans' Twitter, he is literally the most trustworthy human who has ever lived. He's got a rascally dog named Dodger who seems like his closest IRL equivalent to Bucky and is ALWAYS uploading videos of him:

When Evans was filming Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4, what do you think was on his mind? His next big movie? Big Hollywood parties? Hell no - ONLY DODGER. He - a world famous celebrity off filming some of the biggest movies of all-time - just missed his dog.

7. He is the person Captain America would want him to be

Chris Evans is a goddamn good guy, always trying to use his platform and influence to help out whenever he can - whether that means inviting bullied kids to Avengers premieres, visiting children's hospitals in costume as Cap, or just going the extra mile to make fans feel special.

8. He struggles with the same kinds of fears and anxieties everyone would

Being a Hollywood superstar doesn't make you suddenly immune to the anxieties that plague so many of us - if anything, it makes them 100x worse, given you KNOW people are watching you much more closely at all times. And Chris Evans has been EXTREMELY open about how he's tried to cope with his sudden rise to superstardom:

"It might seem oversimplified, but it's profound, I'd say, 'Shhhh.' It's been a big thing for me, 'Shhhh.' It's so funny how noisy my brain is. Everyone's brain is noisy, it makes thoughts. The problem is, in most of our lives, the root of suffering is following that brain noise and listening to that brain noise and actually identifying with it as if it's who you are. That's just the noise your brain makes, and more often than not, it probably doesn't have much to say. (Saying 'Shhhh,') it's gonna help you."

9. He's so good at Captain America, EVERYONE keeps heaping more and more praise on his performance

undefined

Robert Downey Jr.:

"All I know is that there's something about being on camera with [Chris] Evans. I hate to say it, but I don't know what I'm gonna do when he's not Cap anymore. I look at him and think this is the truest, most down moral psychology I've ever seen and then they go, 'Cut!' and Chris is like, 'Hey buddy, I gotta get out of here.' I'm like, 'You wanna go to dinner?' 'Nope.' 'Okay! Love you! Love you, Cap! I mean, Chris!'"

Kevin Feige:

[Chris Evans] is a reluctant star, but I think he's become--and I've said this to him--for as amazing as all of our actors are at embodying these characters, every single one of them, he's one that reminds me, alongside Christopher Reeve, as just like "these are the characters."

...I think he's a great actor, and I think he can do whatever he wants to do, but even when you look at his Twitter account and taking a stand on things, it's like, "Is he becoming Captain America?"

10. He's got some odd lil quirks - all of which make him seem even more endearing

Chris Evans has played Captain America in a film every single year since 2011. That's not a joke - he really has! And as a result, everyone has gotten VERY familiar seeing Chris Evans onscreen and in interviews, and a few of his little quirks have come to light. First off: his obsession with touching his left boob when he's laughing:

And also sometimes the same deal - except on other people:

Also, some eagle-eyed viewers figured out that Evans blinks in one eye sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiightly slower than the other - resulting in some incredible screencaps, if you're quick enough:

How nice to find an imperfection.
