The newest trailer for the upcoming spinoff film, Solo: A Star Wars Story (titled such because the trailers filled with literally nothing but winks at and explicit references to Star Wars would have definitely been lost on people otherwise), ends with a pretty exciting, tense scene: there's a big train robbery going down, and Chewbacca and Han have run into some trouble. Chewbacca's hanging on for dear life just outside the train - and there's a rocky protrusion coming up, which would obliterate him given the speed the train's going at.

The question the trailer is teasing us with this HUGE and THRILLING ending is - will this prequel film that takes place before A New Hope kill off Chewbacca?

OUR ANALYSIS:

If you look closely at the scene, frame-by-frame, you'll see some subtle hints at Chewbacca's ultimate fate in this sequence...

And we've actually re-examined some of the older films - namely Episode IV: A New Hope - to see if they offered any indications about what happened to Chewbacca.
