You know what the easiest way to get a Deadpool project made is, don'tcha? Release the test footage, get the internet all riled up, and basically force the production company behind it to get it's shit together and make the damn thing. And that's what Titmouse Animation has just done - releasing a quick-but-glorious 80 second bit of test animation (in various stages of finishing) that show us what we're missing out on by not having a Deadpool animated show on FX from Donald Glover...check it out:
In case you'd forgotten, it was recently announced that the project would not be moving forward - despite it being LITERALLY THE MOST PERFECT IDEA IMAGINABLE. Deadpool seems so ideally suited for animation - especially coming from the creative mind of Donald Glover and the animation team behind Venture Bros. and Metalocalypse and the same channel as Archer. Like, can you honestly even conceive of a better idea for a TV show?
And adding to the meta weirdness around the show and its out-of-nowhere cancellation, Donald Glover even went so far as to "leak" a script from the series (that appears to probably not be an actual script, but a lil joke he was playing in reaction to the news):
It would be pretty legitimately amazing if this went the same way as the LAST leaked Deadpool footage - building the hype for the project, forcing executives to take notice of the potential, and become the biggest thing since sliced bread.
