The journey of Britney Spears has been a long and fascinating one - starting her career as a child as a Disney Mouseketeer, then moving on to become one of history's biggest popstars before she had even turned 18, growing into superstardom, taking time away from the spotlight, then gradually easing herself back into fame as a reality show host, a return to music, and even big, fancy Las Vegas residency. But during all of this, she's managed to be something no one expected her to be: a sincere, kind, supportive anime mom.

Spears has two sons (both with ex-husband Kevin Federline), and at least one of them is VERY VERY into anime and art. So was I at that age - and while my mom wasn't UNsupportive of it, she certainly didn't blast out my anime drawings to millions of people publicly on the internet with supportive and loving messages. But that IS what Britney Spears does ON A REGULAR BASIS:

My son is amazing with the pencil. He's 10!

See that? That's WONDERFUL. Britney Spears - once the biggest popstar alive - has transformed herself into "cool otaku mom" and most people have hardly noticed.

Big bday for my boys! Double digits whoop whoop! 🎉

Of course, TRUE Britney fans will remember that her first real foray into the world of anime was way back in 2008, with the music video for "Break the Ice" - which came out in the midst of Britney's breakdown:

The video was produced because Spears herself was not up for filming a live action music video, so the anime-inspired alternative route was chosen (purportedly by Spears herself!).

And, who could forget that this is the video that invented anime?

So let us just say that Britney Spears: Supportive Anime Mom is possibly the best and most pure thing about the internet at this current moment. Thank you Britney Spears, you are the internet's greatest PokeMom.
