The story of Harry Potter is beloved in many different forms, maybe your parents played you the audiobooks to help you fall asleep, perhaps you shotgunned all the books in a single glorious summer, or perhaps you watched a small group of British child actors grow up along with you across 8 movies. No matter what version is closest to you what made these stories special is how JK Rowling's world lent itself to adventure, romance, humor, and true existential horror. It's that latter aspect that drove Seattle-based Concept Artist and Illustrator Dylan Pierpont to reinvent the series' iconic book covers with a heavy emphasis on the macabre.

The raw dark menace behind Voldemort and his allies are made all the more threatening in these pieces that the artist all-too-winkingly has titled... "Scary Potter".
