Believe it or not, but season 3 of Rick & Morty IS due to be released someday. Sure, we were teased with the (potentially non-canon) season premiere on April 1st - a pretty amazing surprise treat that wound up stinging a bit when we all collectively realized that there would be no follow-up episodes for the foreseeable future. But at least now we have SOME idea of what's to come in the rest of season 3, as Adult Swim released a behind-the-scenes video explaining the conditions of the voiceover session for the 4th episode of the upcoming season - where Rick will be the drunkest he's ever been.

Sure, Rick's a high-functioning alcoholic ALL the time and is rarely (if ever) not at least somewhat buzzed on liquor - but apparently episode 4 will see Rick achieve a new level of drunkenness. Like, Jim Lahey levels of drunk (and if you don't understand that reference go watch a few seasons of Trailer Park Boys on Netflix).

And to achieve this new uber-drunk Rick, voice actor / writer Justin Roiland decided to actually perform his voiceover while completely wasted on tequila.

Now watch the video yourself, and bask in a few brief moments of Rick & Morty adjacent content that will hopefully help tide you over until season 3 ACTUALLY STARTS COMING OUT:

One small bit of added flavor to this: on episode 242 of Dan Harmon's podcast, Harmontown, he does mention that episode 304 wound up being what is probably "the worst episode of Rick & Morty ever" and goes on to blame himself. Still, a bad episode of Rick & Morty is better than no episodes of Rick & Morty, so we'll take it.
