Ever wonder if there was a version of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith that took the incredibly poorly-translated English subtitles from a Chinese bootleg DVD and then used those to dub over the entire movie? Well, wonder no longer, because that is TOTALLY a thing. As is the case with lots of bootleg DVDs, this version of Revenge of the Sith began with a machine translation of the Chinese script to ROTS, which attempted to literally translate from Mandarin to English despite the multitude of barriers between the two languages, and the result was predictably ridiculous.

But what was MORE ridiculous was the incredible work of GratefulDeadpool, an American who came across the Chinese bootleg and decided to dub over the movie in English using the messed-up English subtitles. The finished result became known asĀ Star War The Third Gathers: Backstroke of the West, and here's just a small sample of the insane subtitles (and, frankly, kinda amazing work done by a guy on the internet just goofing around):

Again, this is just a small sample of a much larger movie - here are some more choice bits (note that "Anakin" seems to randomly translate to either "A line" or "Allah gold" for some reason and the Jedi Council is constantly referred to as "hopeless situation"):
