Hideo Kojima is - by all accounts - an auteur in the world of videogames. His singular vision gave us the Metal Gear franchise, one of the longest-running and most beloved series in videogame history. With rock-solid gameplay, innovative level design, and a constant stream of interesting characters and scenarios, it's no suprise it has the legacy it does.

One thing that probably isn't worth going into too much, however, is the convoluted, retcon-heavy, ultimately pretty nonsensical plotline the series follows, which is full of complicated twists, turns, and weird bullshit that only Hideo Kojima could possibly understand.
