At this year's Nan Desu Kan (which bills itself as the largest anime gathering of its kind in the Rockies) photographer Senpai Photo Studio nabbed these shots of one of the most jaw-droppingly detailed cosplays we've seen in the wild. Check out this modern twist of The Happy Mask Salesman from The Legend of Zelda series:
HOLY WALL OF REFERENCES. Where do we even begin with this. The entire costume is encased with replica masks from across geek culture hitory. From Overwatch's Reaper to the Blue Spirit from Avatar The Last Airbender it's an insane amount of work for the average cosplayer to craft all these props. It wasn't until we looked up the cosplayer, a Colorado based 3D printing technician who actually moonlights AS A CUSTOM MASK SALESMAN FOR COSPLAYERS that it finally made sense.
At his store Happy Mask Props you can actually order some of the actual pieces used for this cosplay to wear on your own fleshy face. Each one is painted and finished by hand (photo via the Happy Mask Props facebook page).
Now THAT'S dedication!
