Oh man, things are not looking good for Keiji Inafune's once ultra-hyped return to side-scrolling glory. Though once a shining example of the power of crowdfunding, Mighty No. 9 was hit with continual delays, controversies (like its now infamously blasphemous trailer), and that whole "Red Ash" debacle in which they went back to kickstart another Mega Man spiritual reboot before proving that they could deliver on the first one.

Alas, when the smoke cleared and the game FINALLY was released for PC and PS4 (with yet another delay for XBox One), the reviews have been cruel. Common complaints include frustrating gameplay, underwhelming writing and voice acting, and a general sense of disappointment for the project that promised to recapture a very special moment in gaming, and seems to have fallen short.

Ah well, at least there's still Shovel Knight. Did you guys ever get around to that Plague Knight DLC? It was great!

Anyway, here's some of the more FIERY review from Mighty No. 9's Steam page.
