It's been 22 years since The Lion King was released, and 18 years since The Lion King 2....and 12 years since The Lion King 1.5 (???).... and in that time countless articles, blogs, vlogs, tweets, novelty hip hop songs, and galleries have been dedicated to illustrating the problem with the events of the movie (namely how the climate was so drasically affected by a change in lion leadership (and why adult Nala laying on her back in the grass giving Simba "fuck me" eyes was both weird and strangley arousing)), but I am here today to call foul to the entire premise that kickstarted the golden age of Disney animated films (and probably quite a few furry obsessions).
