J.K. Rowling did try to mature the content of her fantasy series along with the audience, tackling more adult themes in the later books, but I don't think she ever intended to mature the characters this far. Obviously, some fan artists felt the books were missing sex. And sexy abs. I mean, J.K. Rowling does fill the readers in on the details of most Great Hall feasts, but there isn't a SINGLE mention of morning wood. Even though the darker Deathly Hallows chapters could have used some light morning wood/wand wordplay.
