Imagine a world where the lines between fantasy and reality are blurred. A world where fantastical creatures lurk around every corner, and you can run into ghosts and fairies while on your way to work or school. Now imagine you have to do it while holding your phone in front of your face and wearing a plastic bracelet the whole time like a huge dorkus.

Welcome to the world of Pokemon GO! for android and iOS. The first "major" mobile game release from The Pokemon Company/Nintendo

In a press conference (that you can watch below) The Pokemon Company's CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara explained how Pokemon GO! has been in the works for a while, and was brought to life with the involvement of the late Satoru Iwata and Niantic, the company behind the semi-popular AR game Ingress. The idea of real world encounters and giant epic boss fights does seem appealing, though we doubt just how often the cool popular girls are going to challenge the local skateboard crew to group battles.

There is an available accessory called the Pokemon GO! Plus that will light up and vibrate when Pokemon are nearby, and allow you to "throw" pokeballs while you're playing.

This will go great with my pokewalker that I still carry around to this day.

Of course, this seems AWFULLY similar to something we made a comic about in 2013...
