Disney's D23 convention is going on right now - and while yesterday was filled with Pixar news we pretty much already knew about, today is for Marvel and Star Wars - but, most importantly, they finally showed footage from Captain America: Civil War, introduced by Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie.
...and it has (somehow) not leaked online yet. Sorry.
What HAS leaked online are trailer descriptions - including this semi-complete one by redditor worldwarzack, who describes the opening as a fight between Cap's Winter Soldier crew and the now-burnt-up Crossbones:
"Eyes on target folks." Falcon launched Redwing - it's robotic, and he can look through it! It's Cap, Falcon, and Black Widow going after a bomber - Crossbones! Cap and Crossbones engage, while Falcon, with a massively upgraded suit, and Black Widow take out his thugs.
"This is for dropping a building on my face," Crossbones says to Cap. "You know, he remembered you. Your pal, your buddy, your Bucky."
Then comes in Incredible Hulk's General Ross, talking to Cap:
"The world owes you an unpayable debt. But while a great many see you as a hero, there are those who prefer the word Vigilante. People are afraid."
Cap says, "We try to save as many as we can, but sometimes that doesn't mean everyone."
Bucky and Steve finally reconnect! (cue tumblr screams)
The follow-up to the scene from Ant-Man's credits was shown, and Bucky recognizes Steve. He tells him he remember his mother's name was Sarah, and that Steve used to wear newspapers in his shoes.
And then the exchange between Cap and Iron Man that sits at the heart of Civil War:
"I know we're not perfect, but the safest hands are still ours," Cap says. "Without boundaries, we're no better than the bad guys," Iron Man says.
And then a few other bits - Black Panther is revealed (albeit apparently very briefly, showing off his claws) and Black Widow and Hawkeye find themselves on opposing sides of the war.
Black Panther revealed! The only actual fight was between Black Widow and Hawkeye, but the others were shown charging at each other."We're still friends, right?" asks Widow. "It depends on how hard you hit me." says Hawkeye
And - amazingly - Paul Rudd's Ant-Man gets to be the new out-of-his-element geek (filling in for Coulson):
After, they showed Ant-Man being brought in. "Captain America! It's an honor. I'm shaking your hand too long. You're really great. I know you know a lot of super people, so thinks for thanking of me. Thanks for thinking of me."
And there's more! The funeral scene that shot in Atlanta not too long ago will apparently feature Vision wearing a tuxedo, Scarlet Witch makes an appearance, Stark tells Cap he "wants to punch him in his perfect teeth," and (from what's come out) apparently there ISN'T any Spider-Man in this footage yet, so expect any rumors leaking out to be bullshit for the time being.
So - if you saw THIS "leaked" trailer online (and couldn't tell from the reused footage and obviously terrible editing), know that it's 100% fake and not the real deal:
When the real trailer leaks online, keep an eye out for the Vision wearing a tuxedo. When you see something THAT insane, you know it's a Marvel Studios legit trailer.
