Mortal Kombat 4 is not too fondly remembered - for one, it was the Mortal Kombat franchise's first foray into the world of 3D, and it was as messy and awkward as pretty much every formerly-2D franchise trying to make the leap into polygons. And nowhere is this better displayed than the Jax ending. Please - sit back and enjoy this.
There's so much there - the weird, awkward movements, the sudden camera angle changes, the godawful voice acting (what the hell is Jarek screaming at :23?!), the bizarre melodrama, and the absolutely nonsensical appearance of Jax who was radioing Sonya like 2 seconds earlier!
Even more bizarrely, the N64 version (which has substantially lower graphical capability) is actually a little bit better, if only because the game director was a lot lazier and didn't bother changing up the camera angles or forcing the weird movements as much:
All in all, this is a solid candidate for the most poorly-executed videogame ending ever. Or maybe the best, depending on your point of view.
...although, if you wanna talk weird-as-hell fighting game endings, we should probably mention Kazuya's ending in the first Tekken:
...or, I dunno, Jeff Goldblum trying to make you feel bad for beating the Jurassic Park: The Lost World game after finding all the collectibles?
