For a while there, arcade ports like "Final Fight" and "Turtles in Time" were the best beat-em-ups on consoles, but the true king of the genre was Sega's Streets of Rage series. It's a very 80's-90's fantasy, the idea that a ragtag group of former cops (and sometimes a kangaroo) can PHYSICALLY PUMMEL AN ENTIRE CITY into a lower crime rate. But as the times change, can our heroes adapt? How would Axel and Blaze handle the modern world, and can they find the kind of strength that won't be found in a garbage can roast chicken?
