Adventure Time's upcoming mobile game, Adventure Time Game Wizard, features Weird Al as the Doodle Wizard, owner of the magical sketchbook that the game takes place in.
The game revolves around user-generated levels, created by sketching out a series of glyphs onto a basic template, and scanning with your phone.
Listening to Weird Al and sketching goofy junk on graph paper? Latch-key kids are going to feel right at home! Or, ya know, not home.
Weird Al has been riding a wave of internet notoriety since releasing Mandatory Fun last year. He never fully faded from view, but in an internet that thought this upstart "Paul McCartney" fellow owed Kanye West a debt of gratitude, it sure seems likely that Al was in danger of getting lost in the tsunami of internet parody that he helped inspire.
Instead, he's being recognized and embraced by younger generations for his wit and innovation. Aside from the Doodle Wizard gig, he's also been tapped to voice a villain in Warner Bros' Batman vs. Robin, and appears to have been some kind of honorary Aquabat last week.
