10 Insane Game of Thrones Fanfics

It's no surprise that a franchise as popular as Game of Thrones (or A Song of Ice and Fire, if you're part of the superior book reading breed) has generated its fair share of fanfiction. What may surprise you is just how... creative some fans are. Amidst the countless stories where Daenerys flies her dragons to Westeros, kills all the bad guys and has awesome sex with Robb Stark are tales that will make you question if you were even watching the same TV show as the writer. So if you need some new reading material and don't like having a firm grasp on your sanity, check out...

1. The Bodyguard

10 Insane Game of Thrones Fanfics

via sashaudinov

"So when that little prick had ordered him to take care of another person that night, Sandor had been furious...

...Because Joffrey had sent him to take care of a singer."

Sansa Stark and Sandor Clegane are a common fanfic pairing, because there's nothing more beautiful than the love between a young teenage girl and a violent, alcoholic, emotionally (and physically!) scarred sociopath. The Bodyguard takes their love a ridiculous step further by moving the characters to a modern setting, where Sansa is a pop star and Oscar nominee who's engaged to be married to presidential candidate Joffrey, in what has to be the worst democracy ever. But Sansa slowly falls in love with Joffrey's bodyguard, Sandor, and they eventually consummate their love after surviving a terrorist attack lead by Arya. It's the perfect story for Thrones fans who also wish that they could masturbate to House of Cards. Oh, and good luck watching any more Sansa or Sandor scenes without getting a Whitney Houston song stuck in your head.

Pwn Up: Do You Even Bench - Image 2
I was at the gym with my friend recently. While we were taking a break, I decided to draw a few Pokemon on the gym sign-in sheet, just to goof around. Eventually, we went back to working out – and the gym supervisor approached me. I was nervous we were in trouble, until he asked "Do you still collect them?" I asked what he was talking about, and he replied "Pokemon cards. Do you still collect them?" Turns out his son just moved out, and left behind a box of Pokemon cards. My gym supervisor said he might bring some in to play a game if I still had mine. Now I'm more excited to go to the gym than I've ever been.-CJ

Here's the story: last summer after playing various FPS's for almost 12 straight hours, a couple of my friends dropped by. After a couple of hours, we have noticed that we were out of beer. Mind you that all of us are really lazy individuals, so we decided to order some beer from the shop just across the street (I live in Turkey and you can order alcohol by phone). The problem was I didn't know the phone number of the shop, so I went to my window to see if I could read the number. I live on the 10th floor, so I reached out with my right hand, and just right-clicked the air to zoom in. It took a couple of seconds to realize what I have done, but my friends were already laughing their asses off.-Eren

I recently had to write an essay for a test. The prompt asked whether or not a factory built next to a school should be required to dispose or prevent any air pollution that it produces since it's near a school.

While I should have written about different safety precautions in place, I instead went on a rant using SimCity questioning why on earth would some idiotic city planner decide to put industrial next to education.-Carlos

Article Best Fanmade Videogame Cover Art

By Chloe Cole / February 13, 2014

Many stores allow customers to return videogames they've played, even without the original cover art. This return policy allows for the distribution of fan-made video game cover art. Putting gamers in charge of marketing is interesting because they speak the truth and it's not always pretty. In fact, it is never pretty. Enjoy these masterpieces!

Article Pwn Up: When You Wish Upon a Card

By Jake Young / December 9, 2013

Pwn Up: When You Wish Upon a Card

In 9th grade I attended a Christian school and my friends and I were really into playing with Yu-gi-oh! cards as a retro throwback. We'd bust out our old decks at school and play whenever we could. This lasted until the principle decided that Yu-gi-oh! wasn't appropriate for a Christian school and so he banned it. During our senior year, in one last act of "rebellion" we decided to bring the Yu-gi-oh! cards with us to our senior trip to Disney World. Turns out it was a great way to pass the time in the hotel. Soon, more and more of our classmates began dueling with us during the mornings, while the girls kept complaining we made them late to Disney. One of the mornings we had such intense duels that it caused us to leave WAY later than we should have. We were about to leave when all of a sudden a giant thunderstorm just lets loose above our heads. If we had left when we were supposed to, we would have been caught in the storm at Disney World. All of the guys celebrated the fact that us playing Yu-gi-oh! saved the day, and we spent the whole day reminding the girls that you should ALWAYS believe in the heart of the cards.

Article The 10 Best Videogame Masks

By Andrew Bridgman / April 7, 2014

The 10 Best Videogame Masks

In the world of videogames, it doesn't need to be Halloween to put on a mask and go take candy from strangers (or whatever personal belongs you can find in the treasure chests they have lying around). Videogame masks come in all shapes and sizes and can do all sorts of things - from hiding someone's identity to LITERALLY BRINGING ABOUT THE END OF THE WORLD. Also, sometimes they can make doors kill you.

Anyways, these are our top 10 masks in videogame history...

10. Handsome Jack's Mask (Borderlands 2)

The 10 Best Videogame Masks

Handsome Jack's mask is a pretty weird one - because, well, it's pretty much just his face. Or, rather, how his face is SUPPOSED to look, if not for the deformed Vault-style branded his actual face got. The mask says pretty much everything about the character of Handsome Jack - how self-obsessed he is, how vain he is, and how OUT OF HIS MIND he is. And since Handsome Jack is one of the best things about an already-great game, we gotta give the mask some credit.

9. Psycho Mantis Gas Mask (Metal Gear Solid)

The 10 Best Videogame Masks

Psycho Mantis - which, REMINDER, is just a cool-as-hell name - has a mask that serves basically no purpose (other than to hide the scars from when he burned down his childhood village). Mantis' reasoning for the mask is to block out the thoughts of others from his mind, since he's read enough minds to be generally repulsed by humanity in general. There's no real reason it has to be a gas mask - other than it looks really cool for this floating guy in a gas mask magically intuit what other Playstation games you've been playing.
