I live in Joplin, MO. As many of you know, we had a massive tornado go through our town. It killed a lot of people. I was planning to be in downtown Joplin right where the tornado hit when I left work that Sunday afternoon around 3:00. I stopped by my house at 3:30, had something to eat and was going to head towards Academy to pick up some stuff. Instead I decided my time would be better spent playing Black Ops. I logged in around 4:30 that afternoon. The tornado came through and hit Academy directly around 5:30, as well as 30 percent of town. I had no clue what had happened until the power kicked me off the game. I feel that my love for Black Ops may have saved my life that day.
Pokemon Snap used to give me motion sickness, but I would play it anyway. It would get to the point that I had to sit with my head between my knees to avoid throwing up. Every damn time.
When I was a kid, I had caught 'em all in Pokemon Blue. I even went to a big event at the mall where you could get Mew added to your game. My parents drove me 2 hours to get it. When we got home my brother saved over my file on purpose. To this day I still resent him and we never talk.
I entered a Dead or Alive 4 tournament. I made it to the finals, but was beaten by an 8-year-old boy that kept mashing the kick button.
My girlfriend and I bake a cake after every videogame we beat. Thus far we've beaten and baked Paper Mario, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Old Door, Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2. We're currently working on Super Mario RPG.

You meet weird people in the Army. My buddy Casey was one of the strangest. He's a large, caveman-esque Irish guy from Philly, raised by bikers and, like me, a veteran of one of the worst cities in Iraq. He had a seven inch tall "Z" tattoo with the word "Vegetto" on his left arm. He explained that he and his highschool buddy really liked Dragonball Z and that they both got the tattoo. We all thought it was incredibly dorky. But we never told him that. We just ignored it when he was around. I don't know which is more pathetic: his tattoo, or the fact that numerous Infantrymen in Iraq were too scared of Casey to call him out on it.
About a month ago I went to visit my friend who lives three hours away. I was really into her and decided that I was going to make a move Saturday night while I was there. I kissed her on the cheek and then she looked at me, our faces came closer and closer together, then right before we kissed, she said "I can't do this right now, Reboot is still on, and I want to see the end of this episode."
I made this when I got my Bachelor's degree. (see below)
